How to deal with Discouragement!

We all get discouraged in life, it is a fact of life and a part of life. We however respond differently, depending on what type of a person we are.

There are the Splatters that hit the ground and don’t get back up and moan and groan, complain and play victim or there are the Bouncers who hit the ground and bounce back up and try and try again or try an alternative or a different way.

What causes most of our unhappiness in life is the fact that we are listening to ourselves rather than talking to ourselves.  Our thoughts come at us many times day and night uninvited and in order to handle discouragement it is important to talk back to those thoughts especially if they are negative and change those thoughts to positive ones or create a new perspective, a new outlook, a new attitude. Listening to ourselves is passive, talking to ourselves is active.

What also can cause discouragement are unrealistic expectations. If you have unrealistic expectations alot of the time or all the time then you are going to be constantly discouraged so manage your expectations.

Discourage means the ‘Loss of Courage’ and if you think about it we lose the courage to do something that we want to do or say.

Managing discouragement more effectively can help us be much happier and healthier in our attitude and in our lives.

Live, Laugh, Love.
