Having respect for yourself is important for healthy relationships. The more you respect yourself the more you will respect others. You gain self respect by loving yourself and this is not easy and not an ego driven statement, but the more you love who you are what you are and don’t abuse your body mind and soul the more self respect you will have. By making amends to others you will show them that you respect them and in turn they will respect you. Also meditating can calm the mind and help you get in touch with who you are being, we are human beings not human doings, so it’s a great tool to get in touch with ourselves. Lastly gratitude helps, being grateful for what we have, who we are and what life brings us and gives us is a great way of learning more self respect.
